PRESERVATION PARTY AND FERMENTATION
FESTIVAL!!!!
SUNDAY SEPT 15
1-5+at Wheelock Mtn. Farm*
We will
update the schedule as we get closer to the event day!
...
* In Wheelock, close to Greensboro Bend.
Go to wheelockmtnfarm.wikispaces.com or
wheelockmtnfarm.weebly.com for
directions. Or call 533-9929.
Drawing on the cultural wealth of the
Hardwick area (and a little beyond), local homesteaders and traditional food
experts will offer workshops all kinds of food preserving techniques. Join us for a half day of hands-on, participatory, and delicious workshops including fermenting vegetables, drying and beyond, cheese making, dry curing meat, herbal sodas and more!
Bring favorite recipes or problems to discuss, home preserved goodies (if you have
some) for a tasting table!
We're also very lucky to have friends and
neighbors sharing resources. Bring along copies of your favorite food
preservation ideas and recipes to share. GREEN MOUNTAIN BOOKS from Lyndonville
will have some great fermenting and food preservation reference books for
sale.
YES. . .
There will be CHILDRENS ACTIVITIES, but space is
limited, so PLEASE REGISTER IN ADVANCE by calling 533-9929.
Suggested donation for this extravaganza is only $5-30 per person; this allows
us to pay for the space and offer money to presenters and childcare providers.
The more we bring in, the more we are able to offer to our generous and talented
presenters.
This event is being organized by an all volunteer group of
Hardwick area women who have gleefully named ourselves the “Swap Sisters.”
We want to foster local food independence based on neighborly interdependence.
We believe in the power of homegrown solutions when facing big corporate-created
food crises.
Feel free to email mailto:[email protected]
