Farm Song will present a short concert of songs about love, green trees, and birds at the Wheelock Mountain Farm Annual Sugarhouse Brunch. Farm Song is a group of farmers, homesteaders, and friends who love to sing. As long as people have been farming, they have been singing: harvest and planting songs, songs to influence the weather, songs about or for livestock, songs to bless trees and animals, ritual songs to be sung at solstices, equinoxes and other auspicious times of year. Maria Schumann, Kristin Urie, Jeff Fellinger and Emily Gletsos have been singing together in various formations for over 10 years. They've sung in cheese caves and barns, apple orchards and pastures, for people and for sheep, cows, and apple trees. They hope their songs will make the sap run, sweeten the maple syrup, and bring spring on (but not too fast!)
