Dear Friends,
I am so excited that the author of my FAVORITE fern identification book
is coming to share a morning of FERNS with us!!
Saturday, July 9
Lynn Levine leads a Fern Exploration
at Wheelock Mountain Farm!
9:30 to noon
$15 - 20 fee includes a copy of _Identifying Ferns the Easy Way_: A
Guide to _Common Ferns of the Northeast_
It sounds silly, but is no exaggeration, to say that Lynn's little book
changed my life. Before I felt a clear fondness for and draw to wild
ferns, but the ID books that I had completely vexed me. Then I headed
into the woods with Lynn's guide, and gradually the many ferns in my
surroundings became known friends. I call them by name and we have
lovely conversations :)
We have 15 spots, so get in touch with me soon to save your place. Even
if you and I have already talked about the workshop, please confirm that
you intend to join us. The count starts now. I'm the first of 15. So,
we're down to 14 spots.
If you want more info about Lynn, here goes:
Since receiving her masters in 1978, Lynn Levine has been a consulting
forester, environmental educator and naturalist. Lynn has created more
than a dozen interpretive nature trails, with her most recent one
incorporating an Abenaki perspective.
Lynn has worked with children and adults in classrooms and libraries and
has taken thousands of people into the forest to share her love of
nature, and to spur others to feel the same. [The workshop at WMF is for

tree identification are powerful ways to spark and enhance that bond.

Way_: A Guide to _Common Ferns of the Northeast, _the Winner of the 2019

with Your Woodland: A Landowner's Guide _and_ Mammal Tracks and Scat:
Life Size-Tracking Guide. _

how nature can help heal.
Hope you'll join us -- reply to this email or call me soon to save your
place!
